Residency Program at Methodist Health
Osteopathic Family Practice
Methodist Health fulfilled one of its long-term medical goals in July, 2003 when the Osteopathic Family Practice Program became a reality. The Medical Staff of Methodist Health has always been visionary in its expectations for the future of medical services at Methodist Health. In partnership with the University of Pikeville Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine and as a member of the Appalachian Osteopathic Postgraduate Training Institute Consortium (A-OPTIC), becoming a teaching Hospital elevated Methodist Health to a new level of providing comprehensive, consistent and quality healthcare to our patients.
Through the Osteopathic Family Practice Program, the Medical Staff of Methodist Health is dedicated to providing an atmosphere of learning, collaboration and excellence to all students and residents. The residents, who choose Methodist Health as the healthcare facility that will enhance their education process and provide practical hands on experience, will find a diverse environment designed to provide the highest standards of professional ethics and integrity.
We have a history of providing quality healthcare for the entire family, from newborn to senior citizen. We have associations with many other healthcare facilities, partnering to provide the highest quality care for our patients.
Medical Training in Western Kentucky
Methodist Health is proud to assist promising young doctors through our residency program. Participants work with experienced physicians and surgeons and receive hands-on medical training. Our Hospital provides numerous medical services, giving residents a chance to learn about a variety of medical procedures and specialties. In addition to expert medical training, our residents are also pressed upon the importance of maintaining high ethical standards.
Our Hospital treats patients of all ages, so residents can expect to work with infants, children, adults and senior citizens. They will experience medical issues face-to-face and administer treatment under the guidance of our experienced staff. The work done here will prepare any medical student for unexpected problems they may face during their medical career. Residents are treated as full-time employees and are provided with a salary and benefits.
