Chaplaincy Services

Spiritual Services for Patients, Family & Staff

Methodist Health is committed to providing the finest healing skill, compassion and respect for patients and their families. This commitment extends to fostering a spiritual environment as an integrated part of the quality health care services of Methodist Health. Patients, their family members and staff often seek the guidance and support of the Chaplaincy Services Department at Methodist Health.

Comfort in Times of Need

The Chaplain provides a listening and concerned ear, and a pastoral perspective to patients and families during times of crisis, pain and loss. Our Chaplain also provides counsel to staff members during times of personal and professional needs. The Chaplain is ready to serve as a pastor to those churched or unchurched, offering spiritual resources, guidance and support to persons in times of stress and crisis. Maintaining confidentiality, being available and offering genuine concern characterize the ministries of the Department of Chaplaincy Services to all Hospital personnel.

The Chapel is located on the first floor of the Hospital across from the Emergency Department.

Many people request chaplains for:

  • Prayer service
  • A patient’s death or impending death
  • Family support
  • Religious ritual
  • Ethical concerns
  • General support during stay at Hospital

The Methodist Health Chaplaincy Services Department is the liaison for local clergy and for the community-at-large. The Chaplain is on the front line providing pastoral care, for patients and families, or until the patient's own minister can arrive. Methodist Health Chaplain office hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The Chaplain also is available after hours as well as weekends. Please ask a nurse or other staff person to have the Chaplain paged.

If you would like to request a special prayer for someone, fill out our simple prayer request form to have their name added in our Chaplain’s daily prayers.
